01What we collect

Nothing. The developer of Vblockade receives no data from you — no accounts, no usage statistics, no identifiers.

02What runs on your device

To block ads, trackers, and malicious/phishing domains, hide cookie banners, and defeat anti-adblock scripts, Vblockade reads certain information locally, in real time, without storing or transmitting it:

• Network requests on pages you visit — checked against filter rules so requests to advertising, tracking, and malicious domains can be blocked. These are not logged or sent.
• Page structure — read locally so ad placeholders, cookie-consent banners, and anti-adblock overlays can be hidden. Page content is never collected or sent.

Malware/phishing checks happen on your device against downloaded lists — the addresses you visit are never sent to us or anyone else.

03Stored locally on your device

• Your settings, feature toggles, and per-site allowlist.
• Local counters (e.g. number of items blocked).

04The only network requests Vblockade makes

Filter-list updates. Vblockade periodically downloads updated ad/tracker/security blocklists from their public providers (e.g. EasyList, EasyPrivacy, uBlock Origin, Phishing Army, URLhaus). Only non-executable rule data is downloaded — never code. As with any internet request, the provider's server sees your IP address as a normal part of delivering the file; this is not sent to us and is not used to identify or track you.

05Permissions we request and why

• Host access (<all_urls>) — to apply blocking, cosmetic hiding, cookie-banner handling, and anti-adblock measures on the sites you visit. Used locally only.
• declarativeNetRequest (+ feedback) — to block requests via rules your browser enforces, and to count blocks for the badge.
• storage — settings, allowlist, and block counts (on your device).
• scripting — to inject cosmetic / cookie-banner CSS.
• offscreen — to compile downloaded lists off the main thread, on your device.
• browsingData — to power the one-click data cleaner, only when you use it. We never read the contents of cleared data.
• alarms — to schedule list updates.
• tabs — to know the active tab for the per-site toggle and badge.

06Data sharing & sale

We do not sell, rent, or transfer your data to third parties, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to blocking content while you browse.

07Children's privacy

Vblockade is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
